Christine Wu Selects Eventide for A.H. Rahman Jai Ho World Tour
10/18/2010 - Award-winning string player chooses Eclipse V4 performance Harmonizer to enhance her sound

When presented with the opportunity to tour the world with Bollywood superstar A.R. Rahman, Christine Wu, the multi-talented violinist, cellist, performer and composer wanted to enhance her sonic palette with a proven effects processor that is as dynamic, accurate and responsive as her playing. Her choice: the Eventide Eclipse V4 Performance Harmonizer® effects processor.
“I play my 1782 Gragnani acoustic violin, 2 electric violins, and acoustic and electric cello through the Eventide Eclipse. Music for pop records and soundtracks are produced using a seemingly unlimited variety of samples and processed string sounds and I need to recreate those sounds using my instruments in an arena performance setting,” noted Wu. “I use the Eclipse for a variety of reverb, chorus, delay and harmonizing effects, both presets and custom built patches. I trigger the patch changes with a MIDI foot controller.”
Wu started playing violin professionally at age 17. She has traveled the world performing in the world’s most famous concert halls throughout Europe, the United Statesand the Caribbean including Carnegie Hall in New York City. A former member of the world-renowned Houston Symphony violin section, Christine relocated to Los Angeles in 2006 to write, record and perform. Since then, Christine has written and recorded with such artists as Beyonce, Andrea Bocelli , Kelly Clarkson, Theory of a Deadman, k.d. lang, Leona Lewis, DJ Quik, Justin Timberlake, Michelle Williams and Usher, to name a few. Christine also regularly performs on American Idol, American Music Awards, The GRAMMY® Awards Show and the NAACP Image Awards Show, as well as numerous film and television soundtracks. As an electric violinist, she performs with hard rock bands, house DJ's, world music ensembles, and as a member of an electric violin ensemble.
